Surfboard Rental Prices by Area in Bali (2026): Full Comparison

Verdict: Our rental prices are the same everywhere we deliver -- Rp 50.000-180.000/hour and Rp 100.000-180.000/day depending on board type -- but which board you actually need changes a lot by area, from soft-tops at the sandy beach breaks to fiberglass boards with reef booties on the Bukit Peninsula.
If you're planning a Bali trip that covers multiple beaches -- maybe Canggu for a few days, then down to Uluwatu for the reef breaks -- it helps to know both the rental rates and the right board type before you arrive. Here's the full area-by-area breakdown.
Our Rental Price Table (Same Across All Areas)
| Board Type | Per Hour | Per Day | Per Week |
|---|---|---|---|
| Soft-top beginner board | Rp 50.000 | Rp 100.000 | Rp 600.000 |
| Fiberglass funboard | Rp 75.000 | Rp 150.000 | Rp 850.000 |
| Performance shortboard | Rp 90.000 | Rp 180.000 | Rp 1.000.000 |
Prices don't change by beach -- what changes is which board actually makes sense for the wave you're surfing, and how far our delivery has to travel.

Why the Same Price Covers Such Different Boards
A soft-top and a performance shortboard cost us differently to maintain -- fiberglass boards need more frequent ding repair and wax changes -- which is reflected in the board-type pricing above, not in where you're renting. Whether you're in Canggu or Uluwatu, a soft-top is Rp 100.000/day and a shortboard is Rp 180.000/day. The only area-based difference is delivery time, which is usually under an hour anywhere in our South Bali coverage zone.
Area-by-Area Notes
West Coast Beach Breaks (Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta, Legian, Berawa)
These are Bali's most beginner-friendly rental zones. Sandy bottoms mean soft-tops dominate, and you won't need reef booties. If you're staying in this stretch for most of your trip, a weekly soft-top rate (Rp 600.000) usually makes more sense than booking day by day.
Bukit Peninsula Reef Breaks (Uluwatu, Bingin, Balangan, Padang Padang, Dreamland)
All reef breaks, all requiring a fiberglass board and reef booties (included free). These are not first-rental spots -- if you haven't surfed a reef break before, start on the west coast beach breaks first.
East Coast (Nusa Dua, Sanur)
The go-to areas when west coast wind ruins conditions. Reef bottoms here too, so fiberglass funboards are the standard rental, though the waves are generally more forgiving than the Bukit.
Jimbaran
The one exception close to the Bukit that's genuinely beginner-friendly -- a sheltered bay where soft-tops are the norm, popular for arrival-day sessions near the airport.
Medewi (West Bali)
A long point break that rewards a longer board regardless of your level -- funboards and longboards are the rental of choice here, not short performance boards.
How to Choose if You're Visiting Multiple Areas
If your trip covers both the west coast beach breaks and the Bukit reef breaks, the simplest approach is to rent a soft-top for your beach-break days and switch to a fiberglass funboard or shortboard (with booties) for your Bukit days -- message us your itinerary and we'll have the right board ready at each stop rather than you carrying one board across the whole island.
FAQ
Do rental prices change depending on which beach I'm at?
No -- our board-type pricing (soft-top, funboard, shortboard) is the same everywhere we deliver across Bali. What changes by area is which board type actually suits the wave.
Which area has the cheapest surfboard rental in Bali?
Price is the same everywhere; the cheapest board type is always the soft-top at Rp 50.000/hour or Rp 100.000/day, which also happens to be the right choice for most west coast beach breaks.
Can I rent one board and use it at both Canggu and Uluwatu?
You can, but we don't recommend it -- a soft-top suited to Canggu's beach break isn't the right board for Uluwatu's reef, and a fiberglass board is overkill (and more expensive) if you're spending most of your trip on gentle beach breaks.
Do I need reef booties everywhere in Bali?
No -- only at reef breaks (the whole Bukit Peninsula, plus Nusa Dua and Sanur). The west coast beach breaks (Kuta, Canggu, Seminyak, Legian, Berawa) and Jimbaran Bay are sandy-bottom and don't require them.
Is weekly rental cheaper than paying daily?
Yes -- a week of daily soft-top rental at Rp 100.000/day would total Rp 700.000, while our weekly rate is Rp 600.000. The saving is proportionally similar across all board types.
How fast can you deliver a rental board to my area?
Usually within an hour anywhere across our coverage area -- Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta, Legian, Uluwatu, Pererenan, Berawa, Bingin, Balangan, Padang Padang, Medewi, Nusa Dua, Sanur, Jimbaran and Dreamland.
